OUR SPIRIT BODY

The body that encapsulates the spirit of Chagual, is a natural sand glass blown by lung and hand forged by artisans in the region of Puebla, in the heart of Mexico.

Blown glass in Mexico traces its origins back to the colonial era, when European artisans introduced the art of glassblowing to the Americas. By the late 16th and early 17th centuries, the first glass workshops were established in New Spain (modern-day Mexico), particularly in Mexico City and Puebla.

Puebla emerged as a prominent center for the glassblowing industry, thanks to its abundant local resources like high-quality sand and the essential furnaces for glass production. This enduring tradition has evolved over the centuries, giving rise to a stunning array of styles and techniques that beautifully embody Mexico's cultural diversity.
